Blog Intentions, “Pseudoscience” and the Age of Aquarius
spirituality-24

I have had several questions from people about what my blog will be and what it won’t be so I have decided to lay out the intentions of my blog here from the start.  First and foremost, my blog is dedicated to spiritual and metaphysical teachings, discussions, and insights.  It is not going to be a place for me to discuss my personal life unless I feel something I say about myself and my experiences pertains to the topic I am writing about.  I know that humans learn from others so I don’t mind putting myself out there to be an example.  If it helps someone to learn or gain something from me, for use to them on their own spiritual journey, then that is fantastic.  Second, I am not going to discuss clients in this blog directly or break any confidentiality from my sessions.  Coming from a background in the healthcare and non-profit industry, I take confidentiality very seriously!  I may talk about a client situation in a vague sense if I feel it adds to my writing, but I will never reveal personal details about clients and their healing sessions.  I will be moderating comments for my blog for the time being.  While I normally don’t agree with censorship, I want my blog to remain a space of positivity, and negative tirades in the comment section will not be tolerated (AKA deleted).  If people have a problem with me or what I am writing, they should not waste their time here, and go somewhere else.  Life is too short to hang out somewhere that makes you feel bad!  Finally, I really want to use this blog as a vehicle to educate and teach my clients, friends, family, and the public as well as to promote the work that I am doing.  This is my passion, and all I want to do is write about it!

The second topic I am going to discuss is the topic of pseudoscience.  I am well aware that the vast majority of people do not understand what I do, and I am also well aware that many people think I am completely nuts for moving into this field as a career.  Just so we all have a clear definition of the word pseudoscience, here is the definition: a claim, belief, or practice which is presented as scientific, but does not adhere to a valid scientific method, lacks supporting evidence or plausibility, cannot be reliably tested, or otherwise lacks scientific status.  A sampling of topics that fall under this category include such things as astrology, palmistry, ghosts and paranormal activity, UFO’s/aliens, channeling, ESP or psychic phenomena, psychokinesis, hypnosis, psychoanalysis, alternative medicine (so…Reiki/energy work, acupuncture, naturopathy, homeopathy, reflexology, chiropractic medicine, colon cleansing, detoxing, crystal healing, etc.), near death experiences, and feng shui.  A full listing of topics that are considered pseudoscience can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_topics_characterized_as_pseudoscience.  I don’t know about you but pretty much everything I listed just now gets me all hot and bothered!  I can talk about this stuff for hours so if this is what pseudoscience is then let me at it!

There is so much fear surrounding topics pertaining to pseudoscience because these are the things that are beyond the scope of what science can explain at this time.  When looking at how to comprehend why we just saw that vase move across the table by itself, what the hell the floating blob of light in the sky defying all known laws of physics was, why the moon seems to make people go crazy when it is full, and why someone’s depression completely disappeared after receiving energy work for a few months from a Reiki healer, we can’t use the rational left brain to understand this.  These things are outside of science and linear thinking (at least until science finally is able to prove it).  This is where our right brain comes in (a side of the brain that all of us have and a good many people feel more comfortable operating out of).   More importantly, these things require us to put our faith in a power higher than ourselves.  Humans weren’t meant to understand everything, or we wouldn’t be here trying to figure it out.  Once we were to figure out the grand plans for everything in our lives here on planet earth, humanity’s stint here would be complete.

Now not to knock science (I love me some statistics and facts), but science cannot explain everything in its current state.  When we bow down and worship to the alter of science, we are missing out on the great mysteries of life and that entire world of the unseen.  Science is a tool the Universe gave us to try to explain the physical, mental, emotional (and hopefully someday spiritual) world we live in.  The separation of science and spirituality is an unnecessary divide; a split that causes only arguments, conflict, and confusion, and ironically it is that separation that will always keep us from finding the ultimate truth.  The truth is science was given to humanity as a gift from the Universe to assist us on our spiritual endeavors above all else.

As we move into the age of Aquarius from out of the age of Pisces, we will see a merging of science and spirituality bringing humanity into a new way of being.  In the age of Pisces, we saw the growth and influence of spiritual and religious practices, and this impacted society greatly.  The development and boom of science and technology we are currently seeing is a move towards a more Aquarian way of looking at life.  Humanity’s challenge going forward will not be to ditch spiritual practice for the sake of science, but instead to incorporate spirituality into its new scientific way of viewing life.  That is the point of evolution through the ages – to incorporate the past to help solidify our understanding of the present and shape our future.  Science could be a tool used to explain our spiritual selves, and to find the truth about who we are, where we come from, and where we are going.  Science can be used to help support us spiritually in this world allowing us to help others, ourselves, and the planet as a whole rather than facilitating the destruction of all those things.  The symbol of Aquarius is depicted as a human pouring water out of a bucket or urn.  Aquarius (an air sign pertaining to communication and the mental world) is pouring water (which symbolizes intuition, transformation, cleansing, emotions, and the connection to the spiritual realm) down to the earth.  My interpretation of the age of Aquarius will be just that…science will delve into the spiritual world in ways that we have not previously been able to, and truth and knowledge about the spiritual world around us, will flow out all around us, bringing us to a new age of enlightenment and awareness.

The key phrase for the Age of Pisces is “I believe.”  The key phrase for the Age of Aquarius is “I know.”  As we move deeper into the Age of Aquarius, humanity will be moving from a place of wishing, hoping, trusting and having confidence in the truth (believing truth) to a place of knowing truth because it is factual and no longer needs to be believed.  It is just truth.  I intend to bring to this blog the knowledge that I have gained from my spiritual awakening and religious and spiritual studies and experiences.  I am intending to present info that is more aligned as Universal truths, truths that cross all boundaries, dogma, and rules; info which does not pertain to a specific religion or ideology.  I have learned that I no longer care what people think of me when I talk about “pseudoscience” or the metaphysical, and I will openly discuss these topics without any fear of ridicule.  People who don’t get it now, will some day (in this life or a future life) when they have evolved more, and that is ok!  I respect them and their journeys on their various paths.  I used to “believe,” but now I “know” the truth.  Once more and more humans awaken and enlighten they too will know, because once you experience the true beauty, love, and magic of the Universe, how can you not know?
